It's always nice to be able to put a name to fossils you find, but sometimes something a little unusual comes your way that you can't put your finger on.
Usually a quick trawl of Wikipedia does the job; if not, there are a number of reasonable websites and excellent books available (see our guide to get you started), and most museums are happy to take a look at your specimens for you.
However, for many people, these avenues can be fruitless. Therefore we are glad to offer up our expertise to assist where we can.
