The old adage 'be safe, be seen' wouldn't still be around if it didn't have a ring of truth to it. With many field courses requiring such vests, no student should be without one: but even the casual geologist — or worried parent — can find one of our lightweight and comfortable reflective jackets a valuable reassurance when working at roadside exposures or alone on the rocky shore.

Smaller and less robust than our solid forged trowel, this tool is nevertheless a handy item for clearing away overlying sediment from the rocks you are really interested in.

Any geologist who has spend time in the British moorlands will no doubt have spend some time frustrated by an overlying carpet of boggy sphagnum; with a trowel to hand, this can be cleared away in seconds, and the bedrock brought to bear, ready for a hammering.

Get a better view with this magnifying hand lens. The 5× magnification enlarges your specimen, allowing you to see finer detail and make more accurate observation of the finer points of the rock. Essential for field-work.
